Let Dog Owner Coach be your guide

Margie Hillenbrand's philosophy of "Calm, Clear, Consistent," will help give you the skills, understanding, and resources you need to cultivate well-mannered, confident canine companions. Focus is given to the foundation of getting your dog's attention and building from there. Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 dogs (minimum of 3) to offer participants a level of individualized instruction and allows shy, fearful, or insecure dogs to go at their own pace, building confidence, and developing a positive experience.

We encourage well-behaved children and other family members to participate in class - training your dog should be a family affair!

Pup-N-Parent Play Workshop

For puppies 10 weeks to 14 weeks old. $120 for the 6 week session. 5 puppies max.

Week 1 is a one-hour orientation without dogs. Weeks 2-6 will be 50 minute classes with your pup. After learning everyone's play styles and personalities, all puppies will have turns playing in groups that match their age and temperament. In-between these short play sessions, Oluademi James-Daniel (Dog Dayschool Coordinator at No Barks About It) will walk pet parents through the body language of dog-dog interactions as it corresponds to all dogs, especially your own puppy. Learn how, when and why self-assurance, shyness, and even fear grow in a young dog. Most importantly, you'll develop confidence as a pet parent in how to keep play safe and fun for years to come!

You will need proof from your vet that your puppy is healthy and on schedule with age-appropriate vaccinations. You may NOT bring a puppy with runny eyes, coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea. Please let us know if your puppy is on medication that might affect behavior.

Bring puppy on a puppy-appropriate flat collar, or harness, and leash. Bring treats. Bring a familiar towel, blanket, or mat for your dog, and a chew toy.

Puppy Obedience - Level 2

Puppies aged 6 months and under, can always learn something new but they're still puppies. If you've completed a Puppy class with us and your dog is still 6 months or younger, we encourage you to take another Puppy Obedience Level 1. Puppies will still be able to interact with the other puppies in Puppy class but generally not in the other classes. You will still have the benefit of practicing skills around a new set of dogs and people, maybe different children. If your puppy has aced the basics, Margie will give you and your puppy Canine Good Citizen and/or Beyond Basic skills to build on your basic skills.

If you have an almost adolescent 6-7 month puppy, puppy is eligible for Canine Good Citizen, Beyond Basic or Rally and Agility for Fun and Confidence (new skills, more moving exercises, less leash, less food.)
